  • Introduction

    Unit 6 focuses on planning for effective teaching and learning, covering long-term, middle-term & short-term planning as well as planning key pedagogical documents including the scheme of work, lesson plan and class diary. By mastering these skills, teachers can design and implement activities that promote student success and achievement.

    Learning outcomes

    By the end of this unit, you should be able to:
    •Differentiate levels of educational planning and objectives to be able to make effective plans of T/L activities
    •Plan key pedagogical documents for effective delivery of lessons;
    •Teach secondary school subjects related to your area of specialization to growth as a professional teacher.

      Question

      In a group of five students, prepare a lesson on a subject of your choice that you will teach in secondary school. Along with this, create a class diary of the prepared lesson.

      Instructions:

      • Format: Follow the REB formats, using Times New Roman, font size 12, and 1.5 line spacing.
      • Resources: Refer to the REB syllabus and textbooks of the subject.
      • Timing: Start working on the assignment after completing Unit 6 and you have one week to complete it.
      • Classroom Delivery: Be prepared to teach the planned lesson to your class.
