The concepts of wellness and caring are presented as they relate to the individual client needs as well as specific roles of the nurse. This module describes theoretical foundations of nursing, the provision of holistic care, to assess and intervene in emergency situation.

This module will include classification of drugs,drugs by body systems, commonly used medications in Rwanda, essential drugs for primary and tertiary care, medication safety, drug calculations, significance of laboratory results and related prescriptions.
Throughout this module, brief description of the anatomy of each important organ is given under the headings of various systems. Essential aspects of Anatomy and physiology are discussed simply, yet with accuracy and precision. Again, the illustrations complement the text material and foster comprehension on the part of the student. Each chapter is organized from the simple to the more complex, with the anatomy followed by the physiology which deals with the healthy functions of different organs and the change that the whole body undergoes in the module of its activities. Within the chapter, objectives to meet are set and the content availed. Clinical contexts are used through the module in all the areas to make the students aware of the importance of anatomy and physiology in their future nursing practice.
This module provides with the knowledge, skills, and attitude to care for children from birth through adolescence. It examines the process of child development and the concepts of health promotion and disease prevention. It is for nursing students.
This module will equip students with theoretical knowledge and clinical skills to apply the appropriate therapeutic approaches in the treatment of mental health disorders. It is concerned with evaluation of problems and possible solutions, as well as the encouragement of more adaptive ways of thinking and behaving. The basic ideas related to various theories of psychotherapy are covered in this module.
This clinical placement I will integrate students in the assigned district hospital and allow them to be able to communicate effectively to clients/parents,assess their health needs and performed nursing procedures.The students will gain knowledge and skills to deal with environmental and psychological factors which can influence the status of health of health and illness.The student will contribute to the health promotion,disease prevention,disease treatment and client rehabilitation.
This clinical placement V will help students to performed procedures,to communicate effectively to the client/patient and to assess their health needs.The student will gain knowledge and skills to deal with client problems in accordance with the acquired knowledge in responding to patient care needs.The students will contribute to the diseas prevention,treatment and client rehabilitation.
This clinical placement VI will equip the learner with the knowledge and skills in maternal physiology in order to manage the complexities and abnormalities of pregnancy,labor and postpartum in reproductive process and pathological condition of women and sick neonates with respective nursing care,prevent risk and manage special neonatal problem and complementary therapy in neonate.

Welcome to the Advanced New-born Health Care
This course is designed to support /assist students to identify physiological changes of the newborn during transition, potential risks in adaptation, and appropriate interventions. Students will employ critical thinking skills to create safe systems, environments, and practice and learn to anticipate, recognize and respond to maternal and newborn emergencies in a professional and skillful manner.
In addition, students will apply growth and development theory, identify patterns and risk factors for mother and infant, and work as members of an interdisciplinary team. In order to support evidence-based practice, students will learn to access research evidence for newborn care, Apply principles of family-centered care, social justice, and ethical care in a low resource context. Competently perform neonatal resuscitation skills including effective bag / mask ventilation, chest compressions, medication administration, and post resuscitation care. Evaluate emerging technologies in the context of a low resource setting. Developmental care, kangaroo mother care, etc...

This module focuses on peri-anesthesia and post anesthesia nursing practice contexts.
