1. My name is Aimee Delphine Umurungi, I am currently in my final year doing Master of Science in Public Helath at university of Rwanda. Besides, I am also working for SOS Children Villages Rwanda as the Institutional Partnership Development (IPD) Manager. Key core functions of IPD Manager are fund development, proposal writing, managing relations with International donors (bilateral, multilateral, individual donors) and partners (Government bodies, NGOs, corporate), managing agreements with donors, managing donor grant compliance, monitoring the quality & timely submission of donor reports and building the capacity of program team in proposal development. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Education with Economics.
2. Health Economics is very important in a health care system because it equips health professionals with basic skills in planning and resource management.
3. During this period of outbreak of COVID-19, Health Economics Specialists to intervene and support the Ministry of Health revising the plans and budgets that were initially put in place to reflect the reality. Though COVID-19 came as surprise, it has so far ravished a huge budget of MoH. A lot has been done and continue to be done for the preparedness, mitigation, response and control of COVID-19.
