CHM6164 Ecotoxicology

This module introduces students to the principles of ecotoxicology by examining the effects of toxic chemicals on organisms at different organizational levels from individual to ecosystem. An overview of the principal types of environmental contaminants, their fate, and transport within the environment is provided. Common methods and approaches to detect and assess contaminants are examined through this module. Emphasis is placed on eco-toxicological testing and approaches used to evaluate the environmental risk of chemicals.
