The aim of this module is to equip Masters’ students in Educational Leadership and Management with the required knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to manage human resources in educational organizations. Students will gain competencies, employability skills, and attributes concerning the concepts of human resource management, human resource functions, job requirements, human resource planning, recruitment, selection, training, and professional development. Students will also discover and have the opportunity to develop competencies regarding the importance of motivation, staff appraisal, job security, and employee relations on the performance of educational organizations. It will also impart to students the ability to identify effective strategies for managing physical resources. Students will finally engage with measuring the performance of human and physical resource functions through the 4 Es in management: economy, efficiency, effectiveness, and equity.
