MAT2142: Scientific Research Methods and History of Mathematics

The aim of this module is to introduce students to philosophical and historical aspects of mathematics teaching and mathematics in a

wider context by introducing various scientific research techniques/methods, software’s used in mathematics writing and data analysis,

investigation of aspects of the history, foundations and philosophy of mathematics, contribution of different civilizations to mathematics.

Use of mathematics in society and various issues will be also explored.
