The module GE90142: Curriculum Development for Geography and Environment provides students with foundational and applied knowledge of curriculum design, implementation, and evaluation in the context of geography and environmental education. It explores key concepts, models, principles, and theories of curriculum development, while comparing practices across developed and developing countries, with particular attention to East African education systems.

The module also addresses contemporary issues influencing curriculum development, including global educational trends and assessment practices. Through practical engagement, students analyse the Geography and Environment curriculum in Rwanda, focusing on content evolution, teaching strategies, integration of digital tools, interdisciplinary linkages, assessment methods, and curriculum management. The course further emphasizes curriculum evaluation and continuous improvement through stakeholder feedback and evidence-based approaches.
