GE90243: Application of Geographic Information Systems
Semester 2

The module GE90142: Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Remote Sensing and Spatial Analysis provides Master’s students with essential knowledge and practical skills in spatial data collection, analysis, interpretation, and visualization for geographical and environmental applications.

It introduces key geospatial technologies such as GIS (ArcGIS/ArcGIS Pro), ERDAS Imagine, Google Earth, and GPS, enabling students to manage spatial datasets, apply map projections, and interpret remotely sensed imagery for planning and environmental analysis.

Through a combination of theory and field-based practice, the module equips students to apply spatial analysis in areas such as climate, population, land use, infrastructure, and environmental management, strengthening their capacity for evidence-based decision-making in both academic and professional contexts.
