Research Ethics and evidence based practice

This module provides a comprehensive foundation for evidence-based practice in nurse anesthesia by exploring quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods research. Students will examine the philosophical assumptions that inform these methodologies from various paradigmatic positions, such as post-positivist and interpretivist. The curriculum covers research design, data collection, biostatistical analysis, and the proposal development process, equipping students with the theoretical and practical knowledge to conduct ethically sound research. Ultimately, the module aims to develop the skills necessary to critically appraise, disseminate, and translate evidence directly into advanced anesthesia practice.
