In addition , eenergy is one of the major inputs for the economic development of any country. It is in this regards, the students are taught how clean and inexhaustible energy resources can be converted to electricity, aiming at increasing electricity generation capacity to meet energy demand.
The module will cover the following chapters
Chap. 1: Solar Energy
Chap.2: Wind Energy
Chap.3: Geothermal Energy
Chap. 4: Biomass Energy
On successful completion of this course, student should be able to:
- Understand the basic properties of different renewable energy sources and technologies for their utilization,
- Undertake simple analysis of energy potential of renewable sources of energy,
- Interpret advantages and disadvantages of different renewable sources of energy
- Select engineering approach to problem solving when implementing the projects on renewable sources
- Describe main technical systems designed for utilization of renewable sources of energy
