Welcome to the Research and Innovations in Midwifery module!
The purpose of this module is to provide an introduction and overview of research methodology. Nurses and midwifes not only need to use evidence to guide their practice in clinical, administration, and academic positions, but also need to participate in the extension of knowledge and theory development.
This module will explore quantitative and qualitative approaches to examining a problem and finding answers to dilemmas through research methodology. Topics that will be discussed in the course include: (a) how to select the best research method for the problem under study, (b) the purpose of a literature review, (c) ethical considerations for all research, and (d) what types of data collection tools and analytic principles should be employed.
