Critical Care and Trauma: Track Specific Modules

Welcome to the course

The module is intended to prepare learners to work in highly specialized, technological and stressful environments. It equips learners with the expertise to make sound and rapid clinical judgements within the critical care environment and to recognize and deal with the predominantly homeostatic alterations and their management based on appropriate scientific and advanced pathophysiology, pharmacology, microbiology, psychosociocultural sciences and ethical, legal and professional issues inherent in critical care settings.

Appropriate scientific foundations in anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, pharmacology, microbiology and social sciences, philosophy/bioethics are incorporated in the competencies.

Contextual variables such as social, psychological, cultural, ethical and legal issues affecting rendering of critical care are also considered and integrated into specialised care of compromised and/or critically ill patients
