PHY3243:Thermal and Statistical Physics (DTP)

This module is dedicated to thermal and statistical physics. Both classical and quantum theories will be considered in this module. Gibbs Method will be emphasized. having completed this module you will have enough knowledge and deep understanding on the following concepts: 

i) Laws of thermodynamics

ii) Thermodynamic potentials and their applications

iii) Phase equilibrium and phase transitions

iv) Principal representations of classical statistical physics

v) Basic principles of quantum statistical physics

vi)  Teaching and learning strategies related to thermal and statistical physics.
