This course focuses on the properties of materials in general: density, specific gravity, stress, elasticity, strain, plasticity, ductility, creep, thermal properties, effect of sunlight, biological effects, and deformations. Timber: types, properties, anatomy, conversion, seasoning, deterioration, preservation, defect, products.

It also covers the topics on construction materials: metals, stones, ceramics, cement, concrete and plastics.
