Introduction to Business management GMT 1131 is an introductory course and provides an overview of business and the role that business plays in economic, social, and political environments. In addition, it will provide exposure to the functional areas of business. There will be opportunities throughout the course to discuss current events in business as they apply to the topics being covered.
The fundamental concepts of business and management will be introduced. The course provides an overview of local and international business topics. Students focus on the concept of management, the environment of management, the principles of management, as well as explore how to manage individuals and groups; they will discuss the functional activities of a business. The course provides an introductory understanding of operations and important decision areas in operations.
