  • 1. Aim of the unit:

    The aim of this unit is to provide you with understanding of work safety and health concepts, managers and employees roles and responsibilities in planning and implementation of work health and safety in an organization.

    2. Indicative content:

    This unit is designed to cover:
    1. Work safety and health concepts and legislations

    2. Managers and employees' roles and responsibilities

    3. Identifying health hazards and the risks they pose

    4. Safety and health planning and implementation

    5. Stress management

    3. Unit Learning Outcomes:

    At the end of this unity, you will be able to:

    1. Explain work safety & health concepts, legislations and its importance to the organizational environment

    2. Demonstrate managers and employees’ roles and responsibilities in planning and implementing work health and safety

    3. Identify health hazards and risks associated to them

    4. Time duration:

    You will cover the whole unit during the first week in the following way:
    2 hours of reading of materials;
    2 hours of attempting E-tivity 8.1.;
    2 hours of attempting E-tivity 8.2;

    2 hours of attempting E-tivity 8.3

    2hours of face to face under the guidance of a facilitator
