  • As countries move toward UHC, the need to monitor the performance of the health system goes beyond service delivery and financial management to encompass newer issues such as quality of care, people-centeredness, equity, efficiency, transparency, and resilience. This session will focus on how to assess countries progress to UHC especially in terms of health financing.

    Learning outcomes: At the end of the session, students will be able to:

    1. Assess country’s progress in regards to UHC
    2. Assess country’s progress towards financial protection
    3. Describe the different methods used to measure countries’ health expenditures
