Welcome to the course of Community Based Support Strategies for Inclusive Education, the code of this module is SNE2243, the facilitator is Mr. Nshimiyimana J. Bosco, your participation is highly appreciated.
2. The Module's aim
The aim of this module is to enable students to gain an understanding of support services within the community and how best they can be used to support the schools as a means of including learners with SEN. It discusses community based rehabilitation as an approach for habilitation, rehabilitation, mobility and orientation of learners with special needs and disabilities.
3. Module learning outcomes
Having successfully completed the module, students should be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of:
- Terms and concepts used in rehabilitation, habilitation, rehabilitation, mobility and orientation etc..
- Various models of rehabilitation, habilitation, mobility and orientation etc..
- Goals and principles of rehabilitation, rehabilitation, mobility and orientation etc.
- The organisational structure and service delivery systems used in community-based support services
