This module aims to equip you with knowledge and skills of controlling the establishment, growth, structure, composition, health, and quality of forests and woodlands to achieve desired products and services.

The module of Basics of Forestry consists of Four components. Each component will be separately taught by a lecturer and assessed on the basis of the agreement between students and lecturers. Each course component will be examined through Quizzes, Assignments (individual or in groups), CATs (Continous Assessment Test) and Final trimester exam.

The module aims at providing students with knowledge and skills on the common forest and crop pests and disease in a tropical regions, how to conduct an infection diagnosis, and proper identification of the diseases and pests. It also aims at equipping students on the available disease and pest control methods and their appropriateness.
