Course image VET3222: Systemic Pathology I
Semester 2

Systemic Pathology deals with tissue and organ lesions due diseases and pathologic conditions as they occur in the different systems in the different domestic animal species. It covers all the systems of the body and forms the major part of the discipline of Anatomic Pathology. This enables the students get the basic competences expected of a veterinarian. Important and relevant lesions and disease conditions will be emphasized to assist in meeting the competencies of a modern veterinarian.

Course image VET3223: Systemic Pathology II
Semester 2

Welcome to the Systemic Pathology II (VET 3223) which is designed to teach students the concepts of animal diseases using an organ system approach. The module is normally taught semester two of the year 3 but due to the COVID-19 effect on opening school, it will be delivered in Trimester 3.

The module begins with the study of diseases specific to different body systems. Systems covered in Systemic Pathology I include alimentary, musculo-skeletal, excretory, integumentary, endocrine, urinary, reproductive, circulatory, CNS and respiratory systems.The module has 15 credits taught in three units. Unit 1 covers the Circulatory, Urinary and Respiratory systems. Unit 2 Endocrine, Reproductive and Integumentary systems. And unit 3 covers CNS, Alimentary and the Musculo-skeletal systems

Semester 2

Welcome to this course "  Infectious diseases Control & Eradication o" of the module Vet Pub Health I & Preventive Medicine (VET3224).

This component has the following objectives:

  1. Explain the disease control and prevention key terms
  2. Identify the levels of prevention of infectious diseases and tools for intervention at each level
  3. Describe the specific control measures for infectious disease

The course will be taught in class, students self study and will be assessed with continuous assessment test, End of trimester exam

Course image VET3225: Animal Ethology and Welfare
Semester 2

Welcome to Animal Ethology and Welfare module.

The module consists of Two components namely (1) Animal Behavior and Welfare; (2) Animal handling. 

The course considers the protection and welfare of animals, especially scientific research in this area. The emphasis will be farm and pet animals, although much of the information will be relevant also to other categories of animals and to a wide range of different contexts e.g. housing, management, transport, competition, exhibition, slaughter, etc. Basic information on the legislation for the protection of animals and the ethical views regarding animals will be provided.
