This unit explored the 'what, how, where, who, when and why' of grid computing systems. Grid computing systems is a distributed computing model that leverages the virtualization of resources so that they can be accessible anytime, anywhere, by many users and/or applications. 

This is used to reduce the computational overhead of applications, reducing response times, ensuring efficient and effective utilization of resources and contributing to scalability. I also developed a deep understanding about three major operational mechanisms in grid systems: scheduling, reservation and scavenging. These mechanisms determine how jobs are allocated, prioritized, and executed across available resources. 

Additionally, this unit highlighted the subjective view of grid computing systems depending on scale and implementation. Two of those grid systems' structures discussed were intragrid, which operates within a single organization, and intergrid, which extend across multiple organizations and require stronger security and coordination mechanisms.

Overall, this unit strengthened mu understanding of grid computing and how it can be used to solve large-scale computational problems efficiently.
