Dear Participants,
Welcome to this course- unit of Module VI of your MPH + MSc EPI Programme.
The purpose of this course unit is to provide you tools that twill enable you to conduct Monitoring and Evaluation ( M/E ) of Health Programmes currently in implementation in the different Health Facilities in Rwanda.
Indeed, M/E is based on data collection and data processing that provide information needed for an « evidence-based » decision making.
The course unit comprises of the following components
Definition of key concepts, Monitoring/Evaluation: indicators used in Health Sector + indicators of performance, Building of the curve of Monitoring + analysis and micro-planning of the activities for the readjusted Health Programme, Development of evaluation report of a Health Programme.
Considering your daily activities in Health sector, you are requested to conduct Monitoring of Health Programmes currently in implemewntation in Health Facilities countrywide.
Your active participation is encouraged for enabling you to conduct Monitoring of Health Programmes in the field as practical skills.
1. Learning outcomes
Upon completion of this course unit,you will be able to :
§ Explain the concept of:
- Health program,
- Monitoring/Evaluation,
- Interest of the M/E of the Health program.
§ Explain the indicators usually used in Health sector, indicators of performance and their calculation mode.
§ Build the curve of Monitoring, analyse it and perform the micro-planning of the activities for the readjusted Health Programme.
- Develop the M/E report of a Health programme.
