Section outline

  • Introduction

A Child Friendly School (CFS) is where effective teaching occurs and   learning and essential services are provided to learners and teachers.  Generally, the child friendly school initiative is aimed at facilitating changes, refocusing attention on schools as both centres of learning as well as care and support. It is a way of fulfilling the children’s rights, especially those at risk of exclusion from school, paying particular attention to the learning/teaching environment, infrastructures, and educators’ abilities to deliver relevant skills and knowledge, and support the learners’ needs in collaboration with the community.
