Trimester 3
The teaching requires a conscious effort, mastery of content, as well as appropriate instructional procedures. Therefore,
  • this module aims to equip students with knowledge and scientific skills to enable them to teach Chemistry competences (knowledge, skills and attitudes).
  • this module aims to give students an opportunity to develop more skills as professional chemistry teachers.

Trimester 3

This module is taken by College of Education learners registered in  Level 2 in all biology combinations (BCE II, BPE, & MBE) in degree programme. The module will equip learners with the teaching knowledge and skills such as making biology scheme of work, lesson plan, assessment and choosing appropriate biology approaches and methods of teaching.

Course image PHY2345: QUANTUM MECHANICS
Trimester 3

This module  gives fundamental principles  of Quantum Physics.  It deals with quantum mechanics of single particle in one- dimension, Hydrogen-like atoms  and  mathematical formulation of Quantum Mechanics.

Course image MAT2345: Analytic Geometry
Trimester 3

Welcome to this course MAT2345:Analytical geometry. This course concerns analytic geometry in 2D and 3D Euclidean spaces. The course is mainly focused on the geometry of point, line and quadrics(curves and surfaces). The classification of the second order curves  and surfaces in 2D and 3D respectively  is done  systematically by means of the techniques borrowed from the linear and multilinear algebra covered in the previous modules with codes MAT1343 and MAT2243.In this module the marriage  of Algebra and Geometry is shown nicely. This marriage allows geometry problems to be solved algebraically  and algebra problems to be solved geometrically.

Aims of the module:

  • Define and characterize affine Euclidean spaces
  • Solve problems related to affine  coordinate transformations
  • Appreciate the role of scalar, vector and box products in determining metric properties of various geometric objects in Affine Euclidean spaces
  • Determine various positions between point-line and plane
  • Classify Second Order Curves in 2D
  • Classify Second Order Surfaces in 3D

Course image CSC2344: Internet Programming and Java
Trimester 3

This module introduces you to the use of tools, technologies, and processes for developing Internet
Applications. It will cover basic principles of web development which can be applied to manage small and medium scale websites projects.

Course image CHE2344: Biochemistry
Trimester 3

This module deals with the structures and biological activities of biomolecules such as carbohydrates, lipids, proteins and nucleic acids. It also focuses on the metabolisms of the above-mentioned biomolecules.

Course image BIO2345: MOLECULAR BIOLOGY AND BIOTECHNOLOGY
Trimester 3

Molecular biology is the study of biology at a molecular level. The field overlaps with other areas of biology and chemistry, particularly genetics and biochemistry. Molecular biology chiefly concerns itself with understanding the interactions between the various systems of a cell, including the interactions between DNA, RNA and protein biosynthesis as well as learning how these interactions are regulated.

Course image TMPES23: PES Teaching methods
Trimester 3

This module aims to equip students with knowledge and help them develop skills, attitudes and values to facilitate the teaching and learning of PES in secondary schools. Within this module, various themes including the Methodological concepts of Physical Education and Sport (PES) and the Methodological process of PES Session. It will make students able to do a good lesson preparation, to teach and manage a PES classical session.

Course image TMPHY23: Teaching Methods of Physics
Trimester 3

This module will equip students with knowledge, skills, attitude, and values to enable them to implement the physics Competence-based curriculum (CBC) at secondary school competently and confidently. The module introduces various themes including the history and nature of science, general problems related to teaching-learning of physics, aim of teaching-learning physics, approaches, methods and resources of teaching physics, basic principles of teaching physics, CBC implementation, physics lab activities, micro-teaching in physics and lesson planning ( objectives’ formulation, scheme of work, lesson plan and assessment).

Trimester 3

This module aims to enable students to teach efficiently secondary school students by helping students to develop a deep understanding of the philosophical foundations of the teaching of mathematics, develop careful reasoning and mathematical common sense in analyzing conceptual relationships. Along with building mathematical knowledge, the module aims at helping students develop a mind of a mathematical thinker and demonstrate flexible, interactive teaching styles to develop required teaching skills.
