This module is designed to provide you with a solid foundation in the financial aspects of business management, focusing on the crucial decisions that financial managers make to maximize value. You will cover general introduction to financial accounting, financial environment, time value of money, valuation of firm's assets, appraisal of investment project, capital budgeting, capita structure, cost of capital, dividend policy and financial analysis.
At the end of this module, you should be able to:
(i) Identify the key issues in financial management and analyze time value of money
(ii) Demonstrate general understanding of the financial decision making process
(iii) Use various methods to appraise investment projects and different dividend theories
(iv) Describe components of cost of capital and financial environment in your country
(v) Calculate and interpret different types of financial ratios
