Chemistry

Dear students!

This module introduces you to the electrochemistry. Electrochemistry is a branch of chemistry that study  the conversion of chemical energy and electrical energy and vice versa. In addition,  Electrochemistry has many applications in everyday life.

Learning outcomes:

  • Define electrochemistry.
  • Balancing redox reactions
  • Describe the basic components of electrochemical cells.
  • Provide the features, uses and limitations of cells and batteries.
  • Establish the difference between galvanic and electrolytic cells.
  • Describe corrosion and methods applied to prevent the corrosion
  • Explain electrolysis and identify its applications.
