Brief description of aims and content

Communication security concerns the protection resulting from all measures designed to deny unauthorized persons information of value that might be derived from the possession and study of telecommunications, or to mislead unauthorized persons in their interpretation of the results of such possession and study.

Indicative Content

Communications security includes: crypto security, transmission security, emission security, physical security of communications security materials and information.

Learning and Teaching Strategy

The module will be delivered through lectures and tutorial sessions by the use of step-by-step worked examples. The project development will be undertaken during IT laboratory sessions. Tutorials and IT labs will be also used to form their practical knowledge and professional skills. Organized discussions and teamwork will help students to get cognitive, intellectual and key (transferable) skills
