This module introduces students to the principles and applications of Business Intelligence, with a focus on data warehousing, dimensional data modelling, and multidimensional data analysis. Students develop practical skills in designing, building, managing, and using data warehouses to support reporting, business analysis, and decision-making. Through real-world case studies across sectors such as retail, manufacturing, banking, insurance, and transport, students learn how to transform business data into actionable insights that support organizational performance and strategic decisions.
This module aims at equiping undergraduate students with a rigorous foundation in statistical theory and modern computational methods, empowering them to translate raw, large-scale data into reliable, reproducible insights through programmatic data analysis and algorithmic problem-solving.
This module expands on the students’ knowledge of data communication by introducing wireless and mobile networking concepts. It explores wireless signal characteristics, access protocols, and both short-range (WLAN/PAN) and wide-area (cellular) network technologies. Emphasis is placed on real-world implementation, configuration, and evaluation of wireless systems in enterprise and mobile contexts.
This module aims to provide students with practical industry experience in applying computer hardware, software, and networking technologies in real-world work environments. It develops students’ technical skills in computer automation, software development, and information systems while bridging theoretical knowledge with professional practice and workplace requirements.
This module equips students with the knowledge and skills to plan, conduct, and report their final-year research projects. It covers proposal writing, problem identification, literature review, research objectives, questions, hypotheses, and research design. Students learn data collection, sampling, measurement, statistical analysis, and interpretation of results. The module also addresses project budgeting, scheduling, technical report writing, and referencing to support effective research execution and professional reporting.
