IS80361: Computer Networks (ODeL)
Semester 3

This module introduces students to the fundamental concepts, terminologies, and technologies of modern data communication and computer networking. It equips students with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills to understand, analyse, design, and troubleshoot computer networks from physical transmission media and data link protocols to IP routing, transport layer services, and application layer security.

IT80361: Interactive Web Development (ODeL)
Semester 3

This module aims to equip students with the technical knowledge and practical skills required to develop interactive web applications by integrating modern frontend frameworks with scalable backend systems, while applying best practices in testing, debugging, and deployment.

CS80361: Java Programming (ODeL)
Semester 3

The aim of this module is to provide students with a comprehensive foundation in the Java programming language, transitioning from basic algorithmic logic to complex Object-Oriented (OO) system design. Students will develop the technical proficiency to engineer robust, scalable, and secure applications by mastering OO principles, efficient data management, exception handling, and concurrent processing, ultimately preparing them to solve real-world software challenges using industry-standard development practices.

IS80362: Geographic Information System (ODeL)
Semester 3

This course is designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of GIS. It is a lecture/lab based course with an emphasis on applied learning. The lecture portion of the class focuses on the history of GIS, cartography, data sources and management techniques, vector and raster models, database development, and spatial analysis. It is a core module.

CS80362: Operating Systems (ODeL)
Semester 3

The main aim of learning this module is to understand how computer hardware and software manage computing resources, execute user applications, and provide a convenient, user-friendly interface. It presents how the software and hardware interact to avail a functional, efficient and secure computing environment. The module equips learners with solid skills in the aspects of operating system architectures, roles, CPU scheduling, process synchronization problems, memory management, and file systems.

CS80363: Database Management Systems (ODeL)
Semester 3

This module aims to equip students with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required to analyse data requirements, model organizational data, design relational databases, and develop database solutions using MySQL and SQL. It develops students’ ability to apply database design and normalization principles, implement advanced database features, and evaluate database administration, transaction processing, backup and recovery, and security mechanisms to ensure reliable, efficient, and secure data management in modern applications.
